A rock solid proofing process

Online orders are guided by a diagram of each family tree with positions where you can place your names. They're numbered, making it easy to explain which name should go where.

Once you've submitted your family tree order, I'll use these name positions to mock up a proof on my computer to show you how the positioning you've chosen will look. (see pic above)

At this stage, you can shuffle names around - once! - and when I have your amends / approval, I'll print a copy with blank spaces in all the right places (see pic below), grab my calligraphy pens and write the names.

I use a brand new calligraphy nib for personalised family trees every single day. For these family trees, it's a super fine Gillott 303 nib which gives gorgeous swells on every downward stroke and beautiful hairlines for contrast.

There's more! The finishing touches for your beautiful family tree

Calligraphy ink can take a good few hours to dry. Once it's dry to the touch, I will add shine to your family tree with beautiful, "moon gold" ink. I paint this on with a brush.
